Mohan’s love and affinity for photography has had him shooting extensively since over 20 years.
Over the years he has traveled and shot in remote scenic places of India’s various locations .Through Mazumder’s lens, we see and notice the playfulness, joy, serenity and the tranquil calmness in life, nature and environment; much as his own personality !
The works show how Mazumder’s inward and outward senses are still truly adjusted to each other; retaining the spirit of infancy even into the era of manhood!
Various photographs have been shot in and around Bengal and North East India . The Hills , the valleys of various untouched nature has been captured. those children lost in themselves and the beauty of life , the boat docked in the corner of the river waiting for a person to board it and cross the river, a bicycle nonchalantly shot , which perhaps is the main mode of commuting across these villages.
The most distinctive quality of Mohan’s photographs is the uniqueness with which each shot is taken and produced in its absolute form of capture. Mohan refuses to use any form of the new age editing software so prevalent with photographers of this era. He simply maintains each of the imagery and color and develops them as it was shot.
What was shot brilliantly thus remains brilliant upon production ! A die hard fan of Nemai Ghosh , Mohan’s work has found a pride of place in various national and international collections.
