Style : S.K. Sahajahan is a contemporary painter whose practice aims to connect the physical, immediate world with topical events in media. As such, his paintings describe a specific consciousness constructed not only by the culture within which he lives, but also through his specific fantasies and illusions incited by the violence of our world. His subjects are textual and behaviourally expressive, as they are presented with layered patterns and references to symbolic figures of Indian culture.
